It is unbelievable that even small renovations, many a time, can bring about big changes in the overall picture of the house. Apart from facilitating the home dwellers in domestic activities they make living a lot more convenient. But it is necessary to find out the most appropriate changes to be made and how to do them.

*    For example, removing of an unnecessary wall existing between two small compartments will create additional space to be used for other activities.

*   It will definitely give a fresh look to your house just by replacing old and worn out weatherboards or the window sills. An improvement in pool area surfaces or in the exterior of the house does add to the aesthetics of your home.

*      There is a long list of home renovations. Some of them are, like replacing light fixtures, trimmings, and modification of doors.

As it has been stated above there are a tremendous number of renovations that can be usefully done in the house to make it look more gracious and enhance the comforts of living. We have got the potential and manpower to bring about the renovations to the desired choice.

FOR INSTANCE:

  • The creation of more open space between the two adjoining small rooms can be done for a better view and comfortable living. It can be done with the help of suitable planning and removing the unwanted walls or other obstructions.
  • The outdoor areas of the house can be rejuvenated with the addition or renewal of pools. By decking and tiling of the verandas or balconies will surely give a better appearance to the building.
  •  It is possible that the bathrooms, laundries, and staircases of the house are not exactly where they ought to have been. Therefore their relocation or changing can help in a big way to give a fresh feeling in the house.
  • All the constructions done initially may not have remained as useful as they were planned in the past and now the time has reached to make some meaningful changes to make living better. Some curved roofs and walls, for instance, may need to be replaced.
  • The material and means for construction being used in the past have undergone big changes today and a lot more modified material is in use, which is durable and presents a glorious appearance. So by using this unique material and countless decorative edifices such as trees and many other pieces an old house can be made an entirely new and comfortable.

We pride ourselves on creating real values and carry them forward.

Our honesty is beyond question. We always work hard to the great satisfaction of the client.

We work well and show our best under all situations.

We do feel proud of our achievements and always strive for excellence in the future.

8 Smart Ideas for Small Bathrooms

Oval Sink

In a Lake Martin, Alabama, lake house bathroom designed by Bill Ingram, an oval-shaped sink by Toto is softer — more like a bowl — and gives you more counter space than a square.

Washstand With Towel Bars

“I love this washstand from Waterworks, because I can hang wet towels without having to have towel bars everywhere,” designer Barry Dixon says of the bathroom in a Washington, D.C. row house. Undermount basins and Etoile fixtures from Waterworks. Sconces by Crowder. Urban Smokebell lantern by Baker.

Open Base Table

A small table with an open base doesn’t close off space in the master W.C. of designer Thom Filicia’s upstate New York lake house. Cavern Home Migration wallpaper.

Towel Racks

Towel racks above the tub are both convenient and save on wall space in a Park Avenue apartmentdesigned by Christina Murphy. Marble tile from Complete Tile. Tub from Wetstyle’s Cube collection.

Fixtures With Storage

A small but efficient master bath in aLos Angeles modern housedesigned by Pamela Shamshiri is packed with storage. XO series fixtures by Lefroy Brooks.

Mirror

In a Vermont cottage designed by Deirdre Heekin and Caleb Barber, the cedar bathroom’s claw-foot tub is made glamorous by painting it midnight blue. A mirror over the tub creates the illusion of a larger space.

Continuous Floor Tile

In a New York City bathroom, designer Alla Akimova ran zig-zag tile straight into the shower stall. “It makes the room feel larger,” she says. “If I had changed materials, it would have interrupted the space.” Custom cut floor tile by Manhattan Renovations. Yota shower system and Tara towel bar by Dornbracht

A Long Single Sink

“My husband and I thought about two sinks, but we were about 10 inches short on space,” says designer Lynn Butler Beling, who renovated the bath in her Southampton, New York, home. “This sink and the countertop are all one piece — it’s long enough that we can get ready at the same time, which seemed like a nice compromise. The sink and the vanity are made by Duravit, and I like how it’s mounted on the wall. When you have limited space, the secret is to get things off the floor. The room will seem larger.”

SURPRISING FACTORS TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING A HOUSE

So, you’re ready to take the big plunge into home ownership. You’ve made a thorough checklist of the most important factors to review with your real estate agent:

  • Location
  • Property Size
  • Number of preferred bedrooms and bathrooms
  • Important upgrades

You think you have come up with every possible question to ask… You’ve found your dream home… the stars have aligned and a few short months later, you’re pulling the moving truck into your very own driveway. But over the course of the next few weeks, you start to notice things about your new home that you hadn’t even considered before… little things that bother you; minor inconveniences… and maybe even some big issues. The following is a list of three important factors to consider when buying a house that you might not even think of before you sign on the dotted line.

LEAD

Old Victorians, fixer-uppers… they might look beautiful and sound like a fun project to take on, but in reality they could pose as a potential health risk. Any house built before 1978 may contain significant amounts of lead-based paint, both interior and exterior. Lead-based paint was banned from use in homes after 1978 due to its health risks. Federal law requires sellers to disclose any known information about houses that contain lead-based paint as well as information on its dangers. Still, so many people overlook this information; thinking it does not pose as a significant risk since they’re not ingesting the paint. However, paint that’s chipping or areas that maintain a lot of friction, such as doorways and window sills, create lead dust that you can breath in. Not to mention, pets and children can ingest the dust if they are walking or crawling on the floor or putting things in their mouths that lead dust has landed on. Of the many negative health effects lead has on humans, it most significantly affects infants and small children’s neurological development. The effects are irreversible; therefore, it is important to eliminate as much exposure to it as possible.

If you do fall in love with a house that contains lead-based paint, there are ways you can manage it. It is important to note that you should not try to remove or cover lead-based paint with other paint yourself, as you might disrupt the paint and create unhealthy dust and debris. The only way to safely and permanently eliminate lead-based paint in your home is to hire a certified professional to perform a thorough inspection, risk assessment and abatement of the lead-based paint.

CELL PHONE COVERAGE

Aside from snapping pics of the gourmet kitchen and jacuzzi hot tub in the backyard, you’re probably not going to be making calls or sending texts with your cell phone while you’re browsing houses on the market… but you should be. While cell phone coverage has come a long way over the years, there are still many “dead zones” around the country. With so many people relying on cell phones for their work, and land lines quickly becoming a thing of the past; you don’t want to find out you’re living right in the middle of a dead zone the day you move into your new house. Be sure to test your coverage throughout the house, as well as in the yard and throughout the neighborhood, while you’re viewing the property.

If you find you have poor coverage, but are absolutely in love with the house, there is something you can do about it. Most wireless providers offer cell phone signal boosters called Wireless Extenders. Wireless Extenders pick up signals from the nearest cell phone tower and boost and transmit them to your cell phone or laptop – helping them cover a larger range or space.

WATER QUALITY

You might not even think about the water until you get to the inspection process of buying a house. At that point, you may discover that the water requires a softening system that the previous owners did not install. You can get by without a water softening system, but the the pros of having one outweigh the cons by a long shot. Hard water not only dulls the color and quality of your laundry but isharsh on your skin.

Hard water is also responsible for leaving calcium deposits inside your showers and around your faucets. The calcium deposits not only build up around your faucets and shower heads, but inside your pipes as well. As if that weren’t enough, those calcium deposits can build up inside your household appliances like your dishwasher or washing machine.

According to the Water Quality Association, this can reduce the effectiveness of the appliance and significantly reduce its lifespan. A home water softening system would not only eliminate calcium deposits, increase the life span of your appliances and feel buttery soft on your skin while showering; but you would also use significantly less laundry and dish detergent, soap and shampoo. This is because detergents and soaps foam into soft water, creating more suds, but they run out of hard water and right down the drain before significant suds can form.

Another thing to consider is how “clean” the water is. In 2009, the EWG  found316 chemicals in tap water throughout the United States. (To learn about the chemicals that could potentially be in your water, use the EWG’s zip code search box.)The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates up to 12 million cases of water born acute gastrointestinal illnesses a year throughout the country due to bacteria, viruses and protozoa that make their way into the water system. Add lead to the mix, and you are drinking a toxic cocktail every time you pour yourself a glass of water.

While your home inspection might include testing for hard or soft water, it most likely will not test the cleanliness of the water. But fear not, Kinetico, aneco-friendly home water systems company, will perform a free diagnostic testing on your water. If you are interested in a house, set up an appointment with Kinetico before you sign the contract. If they find the water is in need of some serious changes, perhaps you could use this as a negotiating point in bringing the price of the house down. Then, you could use the money you saved to get a complete water system from Kinetico, including a reverse osmosis filter in your kitchen to ensure your drinking water is healthy and pristine. The great thing about Kinetico water systems is that they are all non-electric and eco-friendly.

HOMEOWNERS MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST: FALL EDITION

As we get further into the fall months, homeowners must prepare for the inevitable: winter. We’ve created an easy checklist to tackle with your spouse as the weather gets cooler, and the leaves start falling on the ground.

Those of us living in a part of the world that gets snow have to worry about the ground freezing, and all the possible repercussions that may come along with that, from your sprinkler, to your furnace. But never fear! With a bit of determination and proper time management skills, the projects are easy enough to spread out over a season. Some of the items are best to hire a company to do, while others are a great DIY project. Check it out!

1. TRIM YOUR DEAD TREE BRANCHES:

Before winter snow arrives to weigh everything down, trim the branches that never fully revived themselves over the summertime. Ice can cause even the strongest branch to snap, and you wouldn’t want to risk it falling. Also, make sure to check that no branches could cause potential damage to your home in any way. If they are hanging close to your roof, play it safe and cut them off.

2. CLEAN YOUR RAIN GUTTERS:

Drag out the ladder, and make sure your rain gutters are clear. You may have to do this a few times during the fall, depending on your tree coverage in your lawn (or your neighbors!) You want your rain gutters clear of all debris so that the moisture has someplace to run-off to, rather than sitting on your rooftop, or running down the side of your home, potentially causing damage to your home’s foundation and causing basement leaks.
